Raisin Cake

Ingredients
1 box raisins
2 cups sugar
2 tbsp shortening
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspooncloves
3 cups flour
2 1/2 cups boiling water
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 teaspoons baking powder
Directions
Combine raisins, sugar, shortening, salt, boiling water, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Boil 5 to 7 minutes.
Remove from stove, let cool to room temperature. Blend in dry ingredients in same pan, mix together until flour disappears, pour into greased and floured tube type cake pan.
Bake for 1 hour at 350. * if a gooy center is desired, decrease baking time.
Cool 10 minutes then turn upside down over plate, until it drops by itself.
