Old Fashioned Turkey Pie

Ingredients

1 10oz package peas and carrots
1/4 cup butter
5 Tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
pepper
1 cup milk
4 boullion cubes 2 cups water
3 cups cubed turkey
onion
1 cup diced cooked potato


Directions

Prepare peas and carrots as directed and drain. Melt butter in saucepan; blend in flour, salt, poultry seasoning and pepper. Gradually add boullion water and milk.Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened. Add peas and carrots, turkey, onion and potatoes. Pour into greased shallow baking dish. Cut biscuit topping(see below) into squares and place over hot mixture. Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Biscuit Topping: mix 1 1/2 cups flour with 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt. Cut in 5 Tbsp. shortening. Gradually add 1/2 cup milk, stirring with fork to form soft dough. Knead 30 seconds on floured board. Roll out 1 1/2 inches smaller than baking dish.
